We need a creative talent who wants to use their visual wizardy to help tell their stories and move the world to save lives in Syria. The Syria Campaign’s creative storytelling has reached tens of millions. We want you to help us reach even more.
You’ll play an integral role creating content, and digital experiences with the power to inspire real change on Syria. Maybe you’ve been working in advertising or design, thinking, “I wonder if I could use my talent to tackle more important issues…?” The Syria Campaign is the organisation for you.

You’ve excelled in a fast-paced agency environment and your portfolio showcases solid digital work, branding that is sharp and clean and videos that convey important ideas with emotional appeal. Your work reflects the most up-to-date thinking in the design world as well as a masterful understanding of the basics of typography, color, and composition.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation
- Working from brainstorming and initial concepts through production, as needed to establish the conceptual and stylistic execution for projects and campaigns, including: branding & identity, short videos, infographics, front-end design for the web and mobile (responsive and adaptive), design for multi-media (e.g. title cards, animation) and illustration
- Working closely and collaboratively with members of the campaigns team to generate creative content for campaigns and social media
- Spotting rapid response opportunities for TSC messages and creative content
- Managing production processes with internal team members and external vendors (e.g. print shop, video production)
Making things happen
- Self-motivated, consistently reviewing their own work for errors/inconsistencies, learning quickly from mistakes and defining personal processes and opportunities for development. Ability to work with minimal supervision as part of a team but to also to follow, apply and advance direction
- Responsible for managing and executing on multiple projects at once and accurately setting and meeting deadlines
- Ability to relay design/production/creative direction to the team and Syrian partners
- Developing a network of Syrian creatives who can support TSC campaigns
Organisational Strategy and Development
- TSC is a tiny but impactful team and we want you to be integrated into it. This will include helping to shape the overall strategic direction of the organization, and at times supporting other tasks of the organisation including recruitment, team building and management, and special projects
Qualifications:
This is a challenging role that requires hard work, flexibility, good judgment, initiative and an ability to deliver results. The core competencies which any successful candidate will display are:
- 2+ years experience designing and concepting at a digital agency, consumer facing web company, or start-up environment
- Proven expertise across branding, digital, and print design, with strong understanding of the creative process, a clean and thoughtful design aesthetic, and high creative standards
- Keen understanding of best practices and technical processes for web development and print production. You must be able to set up files for pre-press or handoff to a web developer, as well as be able to conduct quality assurance for your designs
- Work well under pressure, maintaining quality and attention to detail under real-world deadlines
- Self-motivated positive attitude and collaborative nature
- Thorough fluency with Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of additional design or prototyping tools is a plus, as is expertise in front or back-end coding, motion graphics and video production
- Undergraduate degree in advertising, design, or related field or equivalent visual design degree
- Deep understanding of how content on the internet works
- Understanding of how civic advocacy and public campaigning function is desirable but not essential
- Strong teamwork skills, comfortable in a highly collaborative team culture and a hierarchical team structure

The ideal candidate can be based anywhere in the world but we have small offices in New York, London and Beirut.
